The Wanaka Tree sits about 5 – 10 meters out into the lake (depending on the water level) and captured from the right angle seems to evoke a sense of peace and solitude. I think this is because at dawn or dusk, or in the mist, these seems to be nothing but the tree and the lake… and the viewer.
