The Lupins that grow on the side of Lake Tekapo are an amazing sight around late November each year (see Recent Images). What was once just a weed has become quite famous! Having been raised in Central Otago I would often travel through the McKenzie Country and always meant to stop and photograph the Lupins. They are right there in front of you as you drive in to Tekapo from the north and, if you get up early in the morning, despite the tourists you can be the only one walking among them.
